How to Submit your Music

Rental Policy
The renting organization agrees not to permit rental material to leave its custody, to be used by any other person or persons, nor to copy any part or parts of the material supplied without permission from MMB Music. The renting organization is completely responsible for compliance with local copyright statutes. The rental of copyrighted music in our catalog does not convey the right of public performance. The rights for non-dramatic public performances (including broadcasts) of copyrighted works are licensed in the United States by ASCAP or BMI.
The renting organization further agrees to return, at its own expense, all material along with 2 copies of each program in which the material was used not later than fifteen (15) days following the final performance. Material must be complete and in the same condition as received, fair wear and tear excepted. The renting organization will be liable for the full replacement value of any material listed herein that is lost, damaged, or destroyed. In addition, the renting organization hereby agrees to abide by and adhere to the following policies.
Cancellation of performances after the materials have been shipped will incur a charge of 25% of the total rental fee plus shipping charges.
All material must be returned no later than 15 days following the final performance. Any material overdue more than 30 days will be billed at the original rental fee for each month not returned. Missing parts will be billed at a charge of $15.00 per part, missing scores at the sales price.

Perusal Policy
If you are considering a rental work in MMB Music’s catalog, you may request a perusal score and/or recording to aid in your decision-making process.
The perusal period is 60 days from shipment. There is no charge for this service.
Customers in good standing with MMB may request perusals by submitting our online form and will receive an email confirmation when the request has been fulfilled.
If you are a new customer with MMB, we may ask for a valid credit card (by phone) before we ship the materials. Your credit card will not be charged unless the materials are not returned by the due date. Customers may renew the perusal materials for one additional period.
Customers are responsible for return postage and replacement costs if materials are lost, damaged, or not returned on time.

How to Submit your Music to MMB for Publication
MMB Music has an open-submission policy and the Editorial Committee periodically reviews the materials sent to us for consideration. Manuscripts not accepted will be returned to the composer when accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE). We do not provide a critique of the returned manuscripts.
If you would like to submit your music to MMB for consideration, please send the following:
- A legible photocopy of your work (never the original). MMB prefers digitally-produced scores.
- A CD recording. Midi realizations are accepted but not preferred.
- Written proof that you are authorized to use any previously copyrighted material included in your work.
- A list of works available for publication and performances of your music.
- Relevant critical reviews and a current biography.
- A cover letter that includes your full name, email address, phone number, and postal address (we will handle your materials with care but are not responsible in case of loss or damage).
- A SASE if you would like your materials back in the event we choose not to publish it.
Please DO NOT send:
- Popular/Rock/Rap music or lead sheets.
- Verses, poems, or other text requesting that they be set to music (we do not provide this service or recommend composers for this work).
- Electronic files of your musical scores. If we accept your work, we will request PDFs for our production and promotion needs.
